Who are your Host and Hostess?

We both grew up in cities, but decided to live in this place, because of the natural and authentic surroundings, the kindness of the people, the simplicity of life and the clean air.

Rob studied plant-ecology in The Netherlands and worked as a researcher on butterflies and their ecology. Bird watching has been a serious hobby for years. Since long he was dreaming of living somewhere in a more natural and authentic surrounding. During his first visit to Hungary, he fell in love with the Bukk Mountains. The space, the peace, the natural treasures, the authentic villages and his girlfriend Barbara (married now!) were enough reasons to establish himself in the village Lator.

Barbara studied at the University of Applied Arts in Budapest. She is specialised in textile-design and worked several years as a teacher in drawing. During a year abroad in The Netherlands she urged on Rob to visit her native country. She was born in Budapest but passed all her summers in a rural summerhouse near the Danube. Without too many doubts, she exchanged the city for a life at the countryside.
