More and more naturalists (individuals, couples, families, private parties) find their way to a suitable holiday location by themselves without intervention of an agency. In general, such independent travellers search for accommodation in combination with a certain level of local wildlife knowledge. Farm Lator offers both!
With Farm Lator you can travel in a modern, independent way. Relying on our comfortable base, taking (or not taking) part in our quality excursions, joining in with our splendid meals (or be self-catering), you can tailor your own personal holiday.
Do you like doing things on your own or do you appreciate company but not every day? Then get yourself an Individual Arrangement. In 2023 week 18, 20, 22, and 25 and most of the summer are reserved for individul arrangements.

Basically, we design a weekly excursion-program based on the interests of our present guests. Those can be experienced birdwatchers, but also naturalists with a more basic knowledge. Our guests choose what fits them the best. To get an idea of such trips, read the descriptions on the Wildlife Holidays/Day-trips page. Next to day-trips, small outings are organized to see the very local phenomena.
Alternatively, you decide to explore on your own, supplied with the most accurate information. That includes written recommendations for walks (focussed on either birds, butterflies, plants or other groups) and detailed local maps. But most trips start with a verbal consultation, during which you can ask all your questions. And Rob won’t hesitate to share the latest actualities with you. This is a big advantage. Rob knows most of the local flighttimes of� butterflies and other insects and places of occurence of many interesting animals and plants.

Next to specialized nature holidays, Farm Lator offers a place to stay for anybody with a broad interest in authenticity, culture and nature. It is also possible just to relax in the stillness of our village.
Many independent travellers have visited us through the years. They appreciate our formula. Anybody is free to participate in our day-trips or meals OR to just find his/her own way (supplied with detailed information) and be self-catering. Last but not least our guests have appreciated our prices, which do not compare to those of travel agencies.
Our tours and excursions include only the Hungarian part of your journey. Which means that you have to travel to Hungary by yourself, by car, train, bus or plane. We do not take care of transport to and from Hungary. We do give information about the best way to travel, by car, by plain and by train and can come and pick you up at the nearest trainstation in Mezokovesd (25 km). Once you are registered, you will receive detailed information how to travel to our accommodation by car or public transport. A summary is located on the contact page.
